2A in the Andre Walker system
Our quiz is loosely based on the original Andre Walker system created in the 1990s. It has a lot of flaws but it is still the most popular hair typing system. It is based on characteristics of hair. The Walker system defines 2A as Wavy fine hair.

2a to 3a in the Common system
The common hair typing system is one you might see on social media. It involves comparing your hair's appearance to a chart. We'd don't use this system because people usually have multiple curl patterns. For example you may have patterns ranging from 2a to 3a depending how tight the waves are, with 2a being the loosest

Pattern Strength
Your pattern is highly variable, and any curls or waves may loosen out easily.
Shrinkage
Your hair is slightly longer wet vs. dry.
Strand Thickness
You have fine hair, so you will want to use products that protect from static, wash with a cleansing shampoo, and avoid heavy products.
Curvature
Your hair can be straight, wavy, and curly, sometimes all three at once!
Volume
Your hair has little volume, but this can be enhanced slightly with volumizing products and avoiding heavy products
Shapes
Your hair has waves and/or curls
Tangling
Your hair tangles moderately especially in finer sections
